Letters from Main Street

comments = Saw your craigslist ad. Just reading your blog gives me hope. While I haven't had an
annual medical exam in 5 years. My fear of Murphy's Law has left me paralyzed with anxiety.  My
life is out of control. Yet I take full responsibility for not planning for my future i.e. no 4 year college
degree, no savings, no husband (divorced), no true sense of self worth. Somehow your story has
inspired me to pull myself up by the bootstraps. Here I am without a job, living with friends
temporarily here and there, no place to call home, and too proud/ashamed/afraid to seek
government assistance yet. (Yes, I procrastinate). Thanks for providing information on resources
to stay afloat. Don't ask me how, but your story has inspired me not to give up. Perhaps I will get
enough courage to pursue some of your leads.  Thanks and God Bless!
On this page you will find just a few of the letters I have received.  The
good, the bad and the ugly.
This is just a sample of the hundreds of letters I have received since
starting this site.
Please feel free to write.  I do personally answer each email.
If you have time please check out some of the google sites. This is how I
pay to keep this site going.

Brenda,
Thanks for sharing your journey on line.  I had never heard of a cancer in this area, only cervical or
uterine.  This was very enlightening to me.  Is it considered a skin cancer or is it in any way
connected to the female organs?

Also interested in knowing what kind of dogs you have now.  We have had small poodles in the
past and miss having a lap dog now that we are older.

I will be praying for you.

I read your story and wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you.  I don't have anything to
offer as far as websites for you or others.  Just words of encouragement.  My mother is a
pancreatic cancer survivor going on 5 years now.  She is 74 years young.  She is a miracle.  Her
doctors here in Tallahassee were guided by the hand of God.  She underwent the "Whipple
Procedure" performed by Dr. Croomes, Tallahassee.  He saved her life.  She also had a very
good cancer doctor who has since retired, Dr. Sheedy.  On top of the pancreatic cancer, she also
has a form of adult lukemia.  She was very lucky in the fact she didn't have to take radiation or
chemo for the pancreatic cancer.  Her new cancer doctor had her started on chemo earlier this
year for the lukemia.  She was to go monthly for a 5 day treatments as an outpatient.  For the first
3 months they could not complete the treatment as one of the chemo drugs would make her
bloodpressure drop dangerously low and the!
y would have to stop the drip.  They have since changed the chemo meds and she only has to go
two days a month now and she is able to take that much easier.  She has her good days and bad
days, depends on how hard she pushes herself, but otherwise she is doing really good.  I guess
my intentions of this email is to encourage you to not give up.  My mom is 4'8" and weighs a
whopping 82 lbs., lol.  But a true fighter she is, a little banty hen, lol.

desperately need help but have no idea of where to turn. I hope everything goes well for you and
everybody else.
